Chocolate Hazelnut Milkshake (Made in the Ninja Slushi)

If you’re a chocolate milkshake person, you know the struggle: most recipes taste more like “chocolate-ish” than actual chocolate. This chocolate hazelnut milkshake fixes that. The secret weapon here is hazelnut spread (yep, the Nutella-style stuff you already have in your pantry) — it takes this from “fine” to “I need this every week” territory.

Why Cocoa Powder Alone Just Doesn’t Cut It

Here’s the thing about cocoa powder: on its own, it gives you a flat, one-note chocolate flavor. You know it’s there, but it never feels rich or indulgent. That’s why this recipe leans on a big scoop of chocolate hazelnut spread instead. Any brand works — whatever’s already open in your fridge is fair game.

Pro tip: This is also the easiest way to use up those last stubborn spoonfuls stuck to the sides of an almost-empty jar. Warm up a splash of milk, pour it into the jar, screw the lid back on, and shake it like you mean it. Add that straight into your shake mixture — zero waste, extra flavor.

What Makes This Shake Different

This isn’t your average milkshake-machine shake. Made in the Ninja Slushi, it comes out with this dense, almost soft-serve-meets-slushie texture that a regular blender just can’t replicate — thick, cold, and seriously chocolatey in every sip. And even on a hot summer day when chocolate feels like “too much,” this one somehow still works as the perfect cool-down treat.

Make It Café-Worthy

A shake this good deserves a little presentation. Pour it into a tall glass, add a handful of chocolate shavings or a swirl of whipped cream on top, and suddenly it looks like something from your favorite coffee shop menu. Going all-in on chocolate? Drizzle some chocolate sauce over the top too.

You don’t need a long ingredient list to make something genuinely delicious — this chocolate hazelnut milkshake proves it. A handful of good ingredients and the right texture is all it takes to create a shake you’ll want to make again and again, whether it’s a treat-yourself moment after a long day or your go-to summer refresher.
