The temperatures are rising and there’s nothing quite like a refreshing frozen treat to cool down. Alongside classic cream-based ice cream or a fruity sorbet, frozen yogurt is a wonderfully light alternative that has taken the dessert world by storm over the past few years. To celebrate strawberry season, I made this ninja creami frozen yogurt strawberry recipe — and it couldn’t be easier. Prep takes just a few minutes, and the result is perfectly smooth and creamy every single time.
Why Strawberry frozen yogurt?
Besides its refreshing taste, frozen yogurt has some real nutritional advantages over traditional ice cream. It’s lower in fat and calories, a good source of protein and calcium, and contains active probiotic cultures that can have a positive effect on digestion. In other words — you really don’t have to feel guilty about enjoying a bowl (or two).
Making it yourself also means you’re in full control of the ingredients, so you can easily create an even healthier version tailored to your preferences.

Easy swaps and substitutions
Not a strawberry fan, or can’t find fresh ones? No problem — this recipe works beautifully with any fruit you like. It also works just as well with frozen strawberries as it does with fresh ones, making it a great option year-round.
If you’d prefer to skip regular sugar, simply swap it out for honey or any other sweetener of your choice.
Storing leftovers
If you don’t finish the whole container in one go, storing the rest is simple. Smooth out the remaining frozen yogurt in the container, pop the lid back on, and return it to the freezer. It will firm up just like it did after the initial freeze. When you’re ready for more, just repeat the processing step and enjoy your homemade ninja creami frozen yogurt all over again.

Method
- Stir the sugar into the Greek yogurt until it is completely dissolved.
- Place the strawberries in the Ninja Creami container and spread the yogurt on top so that the surface is smooth.
- Freeze for at least 16 hours.
- Let it thaw for about 10 minutes before processing. Then process it into frozen yogurt using the “light ice cream” mode. If necessary, repeat the process using the “respin” mode until the desired consistency is achieved.
