The prep is incredibly simple, and the recipe is completely egg-free making it a great option for families.

If your kids are fans of vanilla pudding, they are going to love this ice cream.

This is a Ninja Creami recipe**, but if you don’t have one, you can also freeze the mixture in ice cube trays and blend it in a high-powered blender.

Since making ice cream with the Ninja Creami** is so effortlessly easy, I’m always excited to experiment with new and unusual flavors and this pudding-based version is one of my favorites.

Why pudding works so well as an ice cream base

The pudding base is the secret to this recipe’s magic. It creates an exceptionally silky, dense texture without needing any heavy cream or additional thickeners. The result is a rich, scoopable ice cream that feels indulgent without being overly complicated to make.

The chocolate chips get processed right along with the pudding mixture, breaking down slightly and blending into the ice cream for little pockets of chocolatey goodness throughout.

What to do with pudding ice cream leftovers

If you don’t finish the whole container in one sitting (no judgment if you do!), simply pop the lid back on and return it to the freezer. When you’re ready for more, just run it through the Ninja Creami** again to restore that perfectly creamy consistency.

Serving suggestions

After processing in the Ninja Creami**, this pudding ice cream turns out wonderfully creamy with a smooth, velvety texture. The mini chocolate chips add a satisfying crunch with every spoonful: a delightful contrast to the soft, dense base.

Serve this vanilla pudding ice cream straight after processing to enjoy it at its creamiest best. It makes a wonderfully unique dessert for everyday treats or as a crowd-pleasing highlight at family get-togethers and casual dinner parties. This is the kind of recipe that surprises people: both in concept and in taste and it’s guaranteed to be a hit.

Pudding Ice Cream – Ninja Creami Recipe

Servings: 2

Ingredients

  • 250 ml Milk
  • 20 g Pudding mix
  • 30 g Sugar
  • 20 g chocolate drops

Method

  1. Prepare the pudding according to the package instructions using milk, pudding mix, and sugar (Note: We use more sugar here than the package instructions call for)
  2. Place in a Ninja Creami** container and freeze for at least 16 hours
  3. Let it thaw for about 10 minutes before processing. Then use the “light ice cream” mode to churn it into creamy ice cream. If necessary, repeat the process using the ‘respin’ mode until the desired consistency is achieved (I used the “respin” mode two more times for this ice cream).
  4. Add the chocolate chips as a mix-in and stir them in using the “Extras” mode
